Easy to comprehend and good examples with a good glossary section. Although the definitions could be improved by elaborating more accurately on terms rather than regurgitate what is written in paragraph. One of the best personality textbooks I have read.

Came within a few days and in perfect condition. I needed the text for school but would recommend it to anyone interested in a very well rounded view on personality theories - there is something in here we can all relate to!
Thanks Amazon!!

First thing when you open this book, is a two page chart outlining all of the personality theories. Now that is what I like to see!

Pearson: Personality Sept. 19 2011
By Mattymc323 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This textbook is a little better than other Pearson textbooks I have used in the past but that isn't giving it much credit. Pearson has a long history of printing texts for which display a strong ideological slant and a politcal bias. Although this text is somewhat different in that it does not carry such an outright agenda as have other books under the same publisher, it still has its share of misinformation. For example: it refers to the "rarely violent" Black Panthers in the 60's to cite evidence of cultural misunderstanding (then amd today.) The only problem with this is history as several prominant members were arrested during this time for violence and murder. I guess the same discription of "rarely violent" could be used to describe Charles Manson.
Overall the book (i think) is a good medium for learning. It is definately a step in the right direction for a company that seems more interested in peddling an ideology and a left-wing agenda than educating. I hope that this is a sign of things to come for this company and that it continues to improve in the future.

Well I was so pleased when I received this book. It is totally amazing. I loved the outline of the theories of personalities that appear when I opened the book and saw another outline when I closed the book. What a great quick reference!! Very well done. I am very pleased with the contents of the book. It certainly is well written and covers the material I will need for my college class Theories of Personality. Great book!!
