Book Description

Jun 29 2006 Phantom Stallion (Book 22)

The Phantom's lead mare is injured, and Samantha wants to help her. But she can't call the vet -- what if he won't let the mare return to the wild?

So Sam starts treating the mare's injuries in secret. But the horse seems awfully calm for a mustang, and she matches the description of a missing mare from California. Is Sam helping a mustang, or has she accidentally stolen someone's horse?

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome with a CAPITAL A July 6 2006
By Cathy A. Paven - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is this first book I've read in the series. We were at a book store in Maine, and they didn't have the first book so I figured it would not really matter which book you read first.

I read the backs of all the given books and decided this one sounded the most interesting. I purchased it and decided to read it in the car ride home. (Although I got sick to my stomach because of reading in the car...) I could not put the book down. It was pulling me in farther every time I flipped the page.

I love horses to death, I ride weekly. I could just imagine watching this gorgeous butterscotch yellow palomino galloping through the barn I ride at. The descriptions are just amazing and how he desribes the characters emotions is just wonderful.

Anyways, the main character's name is Sam[antha]. She is a horse lover and "best friends" with a stallion who leads a herd of wild horses. Their lead mare is injured so she takes her in and cares for her with the help of Mrs. Allen and Jake Ely. They soon discover that this "wild" mare is domesticated. Is it a missing horse from California, or the lead mare from the Phantom's herd? I would tell you the rest but I'm afraid I would give it away... You'll just have to read it for yourself. :)

I absolutely Luv this book! I totally agree with people out there, sometimes she (Terri) doesn't get as much credit as she deserves, I really enjoy the Phantom Stallion series and the Stallion of the Cimmaron and in MY opinion they are both great series! And if I may agree with someone else IF YOU DON'T LIKE THESE BOOKS WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING BY READING ONE!!!!!!!!!!
