When Sam rescues an abused mare from a group of outlaw horse rustlers, she knows she's done the right thing. But the ranch already has a full corral, and a long drought means the cattle are running out of grass. And her dad has told her she can't adopt another mustang.
If that weren't enough, the mare is skittish and unruly after being hurt by the rustlers. Can Sam get the frightened mare to trust her?
Terri Farley has always loved horses. She left Los Angeles for the cowgirl state of Nevada after earning degrees in English and Journalism. Now she rides the range researching books and magazine articles on the West's people and animals -- especially Nevada's controversial wild horses. She lives in a one-hundred-year-old house with her husband, children, and way too many pets.

A Unique and Uplifting Story,

This review is from: Phantom Stallion #3: Dark Sunshine (Paperback)
Like all the other books in this series, this book is incredibly well written. The author creates images within words, sending the readers imagination on a joy ride. Terri Farley has a wonderful and beautiful way of bringing things to life, and to me, Sam, Dark Sunshine, Ace, and the Phantom are all real. I often end up imagining myself in Sam's shoes, looking into the deep, gorgeous chocolate eyes of the buckskin mare she falls in love with on the side of a mountain. Dark Sunshines condition is heart-renching, descriped so vividly, it makes all horse lovers shudder. Can Sam save this horse--and make her useful on the ranch?

Dark Sunshine- Seen Lighter Days,
By Anna Noelle Richards (Snoqualmie, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Phantom Stallion #3: Dark Sunshine (Paperback)
Terri Farley really exhibits her strength when it comes down to knowing the hard facts in her third book, Dark Sunshine. All of the information is well-organized and certainly accurate. You can't write a book like this unless you have really got your hands dirty and done it yourself, and I believe Farley has.Sam is off on another crazy, exhilirating adventure, and she'll plop you on a horse for the ride. You get a real, in-depth feeling of really being out there, really seeing what's happening. Sam has to experiment with Dark Sunshine to get a response, and it is touching to read about the dedication and heart Sam displays so clearly. For young and old horse lovers alike, this book and the entire series is defintely worth reading! I Hope This Review Was Helpful!
