5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent handy flashcards July 22 2010

I find the pcat book of flashcards really handy. usually you have to buy those thick books with only a few practice exams but this book is easy to transport and you can quiz yourself on the different pcat subjects. i actually take my copy to work (i'm a waitress) and between tables i go over a few of the questions. also the answers give great and thorough explanations. not only why it is the answer but also why the others are incorrect. great overall product!

4.0 out of 5 stars TYPOS!! Otherwise, good questions. Sept. 30 2011
By M. Fan - Published on Amazon.com

The questions were pretty similar to what you'd get on the actual PCAT (moreso than kaplan). (except for verbal. The actual PCAT verbal is easier and does not have the tough GRE type vocabulary words, it is looking for logic and reasoning more than fancy vocabulary knowledge.) The answer explanations are amazing. However, you have to be careful on typos. Most of them are fairly obvious, like having four bonds coming off of a H, (which was supposed to be typed C). Often it was as if two different people were trying to type and the answer doesn't make sense given the question. For the most part, I think this book is a good tool for some quick drilling with PCAT-like questions. I also bought the online practice tests published by Pearson, the same company that writes the actual exam. Those questions are of course the most accurate. However, this book was a good supplement for quick Q&A practice on the go, waiting in line, bus, etc. where I couldn't get on the computer to do the official Pearson online practice tests.

I did not buy Kaplan. I just used official Pearson practice tests to simulate testing situations and identify topics that I needed to review (reviewed with google, wikipedia, class notes, textbooks, dug up the old AP review books, etc.), this portable REA notecard book to drill when I had spare moments in my day, and Organic Chemistry I As a Second Language (David Klein) since I hadn't taken Organic Chem yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Prep Aid on the Market!!! July 21 2011
By Katheryn Blankenship - Published on Amazon.com
Kaplan? Dr. Collins? Cliff's?
When you get your review on for the big test, you'll find yourself wondering the same thing:
Am I getting good practice questions?

Aside from the 3 practice tests Pearson gives you, you will find no other reasource better at giving you questions of the same quality, focus and difficulty that you'll see on the actual PCAT.

I drilled myself through every question in this book, and the provided detailed explanations on the reverse of each question page. I scored incredibly well on my PCAT, and I will praise this highly portable, densly and sexily packed book as the single best value out there. Comes with a CD loaded with several timed mini quizes. (which I think are just questions pulled from the book itself)
