Not a resource for the PTCE July 18 2011
By J. Toney - Published on Amazon.com

I suppose if you purchase all the books in the series, this book Might provide some useful information, but in no way shape or form is it a book to be used when trying to Review and Study for the National Pharmacy Technician Certification exams. The content is way too Broad when it covers topics. The tests and quizzes are not helpful in preparing for the PTCE. I will give the author the benefit of the doubt that this book may be helpful when you are studying for an internal hospital pharmacy exam somewhere, but it isn't even close to adding value in review for a National Certification Exam.

Poor book to use June 18 2011
By Wayne Hyder - Published on Amazon.com

You get what you pay for. Several answers in both the practice exam and quizes on the CD had errors in the response. Since some where not multiple choice it is impossible to determine some answers such as does 1 oz is equal to 28.4 grams or 30 grams or like 1 gr is equal to 60 mg or 65 mg. The book is small in content with only one, 125 question practice exam. I got frustrated taking the exam on the CD knowing that some of the answers where wrong. I am truly sorry I bought this book. I wish I could sent it back and get my money back.

it covers the main points about pharmacy tech work and duties but felt lacking as far as math practice goes because that carries most points.
Beware of incorrect test answers Feb. 24 2014
By Melanie - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
My pharmacy manager purchased this book for our department, and I am using it to prepare for my PTCB certification exam. The only upside to the several questions I answered correctly, but which had incorrect answers in the answer keys, is that I am closely examining each of my wrong answers and it is acting as a study aid! Seems this book was thrown together too quickly. I can't believe that an organization representing pharmacists, whose careers depend on getting the details correct, allowed this piece of junk to be published without better proofing. Glad I didn't pay for it!

This book is very comprehensive without being hard to understand. It touches on points for both hospital and retail pharmacies and has acctually made me want to make a change from retail to hospital setting. a very good book for anyone wanting to become a pharm tech!
