Product Description

Gramophone, January 2008

Dubeau plays everything with alluring sweetness and sophistication and her colleagues match her tender, inflected playing note for note.

The Star Ledger, November 3, 2008

This is one of the best Philip Glass albums in ages. Led by French Canadian violinist Angele Dubeau, the all-female string-ensemble La Pieta has woven together some of the composer's most moodily romantic and irresistible pieces, playing them with a lush, almost hypnotizing beauty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glass played like never before, Oct 14 2008
By Matou (Montreal) - See all my reviews
This disc is quite a change from Angèle Dubeau & La Pietà previous album, the smooth and soothing Un Conte De Fees/Fairy Tale.
While exploring a whole new world with Glass Music, she reminds us of some of the incredible music he composed and she reminds us of some good films (Mishima, La Belle & La Bête). Captivating, never boring, with this Portrait, she made a moving disc.
