Product Description

Philippa is looking forward to spending New Year in the village where her new friend Robyn lives. But her fairy godsister Daisy, assigned to a new job but disobeying orders as usual, turns up to warn her that something really bad (SRB) is going to happen! What they don't know is that a fairy has gone missing from the ancient stone circle on the moors -and that at ATC (Above the Clouds) Headquarters, the fairy godmothers in charge have a special plan for them. A perfect story for Liz Kessler's many fans, in which humans and fairies swap worlds with dramatic and unexpected consequences.

5.0 out of 5 stars You too can be a fairy God sister, Oct 17 2010
By Paul Jutras - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Philippa Fisher and the Fairy's Promise (Hardcover)
When I first read that Philippa was going to Above the Clouds in this book I thought maybe Fairy Godmother training might of been her reward for saving her best friend Daisy in the second book of the trilogy. Turn out to be a even better story for the most part. I read the book in a single day.

Hundred of years ago Fairies and humans were best friends. Over time humans turn away from magic and focus on science (forgetting that Fairies were more than fairy tales.) Now with all of fairy kind threatened Head Command of Above the Cloud sets up a series of tests to find out how strong the friendship between Daisy and Philippa is. Tests that results in Philippa going to Above The Clouds headquarters and pretending to be a fairy so she isn't discovered as a human. If the tests are concluded to the praise of the high command the two two will be given an assignment together that could be the only way to keep the link between their worlds from closing forever. All our favorite characters from the first two books are brought fact in this thrilling tale of how magical friend ship truly is.

The only thing I didn't like about the book was around the ending. I had hope for Philippa to be given a chance to become a Fairy Godmother herself rather than Daisy's choice to help Amber. As you'll read for yourself Daisy's future fate is sort of left unanswered. Reader isn't 100% sure where she'll end up.

A dash of adventure for the young reader is opened up here with Liz Kessler's brilliant and captivating writing style once again. Wonderf when they will start producing movies from these? Could easily go that way - was like when I read the Hunger Games a few years back, it made sense.

Liz Kessler books are a sure hit for the young, confident, reader. We (my familty) have many of her books, and will keep them coming.

What wonderful literature.
