The GoLITE BluPhilips HF3332/60 GoLITE Blu (Rechargeable Batteries and Travel Case Included)does wonders for me and I frequently recommend it to others who find the darkness of the winter depresses them. A psychiatrist whom I was seeing because of depressionj recommended it to me saying that it had been shown scientifically to be helpful. When I wake each morning, I turn it on and keep it with me (not in the shower!) for an hour. If I've wakened up feeling a bit down, the light seems invariably to improve my feelings. I live in a northern clime and I do this from October to March. I recommend it most highly.

I'm a bit of a skeptic when it comes to 'alternative' therapy, being a firm believer in medications and 'scientific' cures. However, I honestly think this light works. I've had major depression for years, and it gets worse every year. I had resorted to caffeine pills in addition to my regime of antidepressants, etc. in order to get through the work day but using this light twice a day has finally let me get off them. It helps me wake up in the morning, and gives me the necessary boost after work to get through making supper and housework.
The only downside would have to be the high price, and the initial side effects. The first time I used it, I went for 15 minutes on 50% intensity and I got a wicked wave of nausea and a headache shortly afterwards. However, once your body gets used to the energy reversal (after about a week) it resolves.
I would definitely recommend it for those who have tried everything else and are tired of adding one pill after another to their daily routine.
The only downside would have to be the high price, and the initial side effects. The first time I used it, I went for 15 minutes on 50% intensity and I got a wicked wave of nausea and a headache shortly afterwards.
