Currently, this model by Philips and the Remington Touch trimmer are the state-of-the-art beard trimmers on the market. While the jury's still out on the latter, given its very recent release date, the QT4050/70 have been out since 2009/10 respectively. I purchased the QT4070 recently and used it on a 4-week beard. The result was arguably the best trim I've ever had, owing the innovative cutting design (flat head versus slanted, as with other trimmers), the consistency of the cutting, and the efficient motor, providing the torque needed to trim through a wiry foliage of facial hair (the turbo button is useful here). The vacuum feature works rather well, so that roughly 85% of the hairs were trapped in the receptacle beneath the cutting blades, obviating the need to use a towel or bowl under the sink to prevent drain clogging. The included brush suffices to clean miscellaneous hairs stuck to the blades (which conveniently require no oiling or other maintenance). Finally, the versatility of the trimmer, allowing up to 18mm of cutting length, puts it miles ahead of most brands on the market at department stores and pharmacies (Wahl, Conair, Braun, etc.). Conversely, Philips did produce a "stubble" beard trimmer that was woefully under-performing and cumbersome, so this line of trimmers is clearly an improvement. Overall, I'd rate the product a solid 9 out of 10. In future, perhaps a trimmer operating with lower noise emissions would round it out to a perfect score.

Works great. Nice adjustments that stay where you set them previously. Can set how short you want your beard by little increments. Definitely way better than the old one I had before. Some hair in sink as vacuum is not perfect but does suck in maybe 3/4 + of the hair.
