5.0 out of 5 stars Exquisite fin-de-siècle musique!, Sep 27 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Piano Quintet / Cello Sonata (Audio CD)
This is really a fabulous disc of rare and exquisite fin-de-siècle music by an unfortunately forgotten Belgian composer. Biarent is in the line of Franck, Lekeu, Fauré, Chausson, Vierne, and Magnard: i.e., the Franco-Belgian school of fin-de-siècle Wagnerian chamber music. The pieces on this disc were written in the early 20th century and the first year of WWI. A fantistic find!
