Well, I'm not a great expert in music. Therefore I won't analyze the music and the performance. All I can say is that I really really like the sonatas, and the performance is admirable- the tempos, the way Frederick Marvin handles the piano, the sound of the piano, everything. A pity Frederick Marvin didn't record more of Dussek's Piano sonatas (and there are much more). And it's also a pity that Dussek's piano music is almost unavailable in modern sheet music editions. The bottom line- a very interesting and beautiful music, that will enrich every classical music lover CD collection.
