My 3 year old daughter is learning French and so we are always looking for French audio books for her to listen to. I wanted a version of Peter and the Wolf, thinking that it would be a fun way to engage her in a language lesson. I was especially pleased with this book and will be looking for other books in the series. This book quickly became one of her favorites. The reading is very expressive and the illustrations are so beautiful! Also, the instruments are illustrated on the pages the first time they are introduced with the corresponding character, and when an instrument wasn't indicated on the page, she would go back and try to find the picture of the instrument that she was hearing. She loves the book and I don't mind listening to it over and over either. Which is good, since repetition is such a big part of their lives at this age! It's a beautiful score, so it's pleasant to hear around the house. Of course, there are great English versions of this as well, I just chose to use this story as a form of French scaffolding, and I can recommend it to anyone else trying to get their child some exposure to the language.
