I read this particular book in between having a lot of things to do .It was so good that I got up early to finish it. The author Robert E Vardeman wrote some amazing stories.I encourage you to read all six books they are well worth it and a qiuck read all six.This is when Lan the hero (Lan Martel) finally defeats the evil Claybore the dismembered mage of enormous magical powers and decides that immortality ain't that great.
