About the Author
Victoria Kann is the award-winning illustrator and author of the picture book series featuring the whimsical and effervescent character Pinkalicious. Victoria coauthored and illustrated the first two books, Pinkalicious and Purplicious, as well as the play Pinkalicious: The Musical. She wrote and illustrated the New York Times number-one bestsellers Goldilicious and Silverlicious. Currently she is working on several more books about the adventures and antics of Pinkalicious. I pre-ordered this set and thought I would get the 3 main books in the series (Pink, Purple, Gold - alicious), but got the newer ones (pink drink, tickled pink and school rules). They didn't have a description back then on the site, but this isn't the problem. I haven't read the original series, but these three are horrible books. I admit I bought the whole set because of all the pink in it, which many little girls love, but if it wasn't an online purchase and I could just put it back in the box I would've probably returned it. The stories are flatter than soda being left outside for a week, the message or moral of the stories is lame and weak, even the illustrations don't make up for the bad writing, which is another thing, it's written very poorly. Obviously, the makers of this product focused all their attention on making the product look very desirable, adorable, cute and sellable, but its absolutely empty of content. In addition, the stickers that came with it don't really stick well, the glue is too weak, so they keep falling off all the time. The coloring page (1) that came with it is ok, but the crayons are absolutely terrible, they don't color at all, it's more like tinted wax. I would throw the whole thing away, but my daughter keeps it around because it's pink. There are better pink books out there (try "The Big Pink Book of Everything" from Scholastic, "My Pretty Pink Sticker and Doodling Purse" and a box set of mini pink books called "My Pretty Pink Books" that my daughter carries everywhere with her in her own purse to look at the pictures while waiting in line, at the Dr's office, restaurants etc.), this product is such a waste.

I purchased this set for my "almost" 4yr old. She LOVES all the Pinkalicious books and this set is extra special because it came with 3 (paperback) books plus a huge poster to color.....even a few crayons. Pulled it out on a rainy day and it was a HIT :) By purchasing the 3 books in this set you save approx. $3. Buying more for gifts :)

This was an incredible set and so reasonably priced, Santa nailed this and the crayons and poster to be colored was the perfect bonus!
