About the Author
Victoria Kann is the award-winning illustrator and author of the picture book series featuring the whimsical and effervescent character Pinkalicious. Victoria coauthored and illustrated the first two books, Pinkalicious and Purplicious, as well as the play Pinkalicious: The Musical. She wrote and illustrated the New York Times number-one bestsellers Goldilicious and Silverlicious. Currently she is working on several more books about the adventures and antics of Pinkalicious. Every Pinkalicious fan needs this Pink Treasury by Victoria Kann! As a teacher and a mother of a five year old Pinkalicious fan, I give this my "pink" thumbs up! A delightful collection of stories, poems, and so much more. In fact, there are five stories in the 208 page book. An added bonus is that there is a 23 minute CD in the book. The CD has the five stories in the book read by a very sweet voiced little girl who I think sounds like the way one would imagine Pinkalicious to sound. My only negative comment about this set is that the CD does not include turn the page signals. Still, it will be great to listen to in the car (working on listening comprehension). The five stories on the CD and the book are; School Rules, Pinkalicious and the Pink Drink, Pink Around the Rink, Tickled Pink, and Pinkie Promise. The stories on the CD are the same as the ones in the book. The CD includes some sound effects to go along with the stories. The book is just awesome... Not only do you get the five complete stories in the book, each story has activities to match; Make A New Friend Ideas to go along with School Rules. Following that there is a Be Imaginative Frame that asks the reader to draw (on a separate paper) an imaginary friend. Following the Pink Drink story you will find ideas about making a lemonade stand with recipes for Pinkalicious Lemonade, and Pink-a-Yummy Cookies. After reading Pink Around the Rink, Entertaining Outdoor Winter Activities are included. I especially like the Pink Snow Fairies idea!!! Then you will find Amusing Indoor Winter Activities such as and indoor skating rink idea. Following the Pinkie Promise story you will find a play/readers theater (this would be lots of fun for a classroom). Other fun treats in this awesome book include; Pinkalicious themed jump rope rhymes, counting rhymes, spot the difference pages, spot the Ice Princess Puzzler, jokes to tickle you pink (Which fingers would Pinkalicious use to finger paint? - answer is in the book), and a graphic organizer to help you write your own Pinktastic Story. This book is definitely "Pinky-Perfect-O" and a wonderful addition to your collection or just a great way to start falling in love with the Pinkalicious Stories. A perfect gift for a PreK to second grade kiddo!

This is a great book for my 6 year old girl. She loved to read it & she enjoys listening to the CD comes along with it. The Sound is very clear and it's like a little girl her own age reading for her. My doughter liked it so much! She even took it to her school to read to her friends!
