Hardly fits 8x10 prints, but they do fit. Comes with lots of pages (60), which is plenty for my needs.

Great album, great pages, horrible refills Feb. 13 2014

The album itself is a classy looking brown leather with black binding. The rings are "D" shaped and attached to the back cover, so there's less chance of the pages getting caught and bent and damaged. The sheets which come with the binder (15 pages; 30 faces) fit an 8x10, which is unusual these days. They have a good quality card stock, and heavier plastic cover. As with all "magnetic" albums, the clear page will wrinkle, depending on the thickness of what you put on the page. A hint: take the pages out of the binder to fill them. Place one flat on the table, put in the items, turn it sideways, and sweep the plastic down with your hand, another page, a piece of cardboard, anything that spans the length of the page. Having the firm, flat surface underneath makes it much more likely to lay flat and bubble-less.

The [big] problem with these albums is the refills. You will want refills, probably 30-40 pages (60-80 faces), or otherwise the album looks empty and wastes space. The recommended refills are Pinnacle #RF2258. They are ALMOST exactly the same size, but that is where the similarity ends. Despite the high cost for the refills, they are obviously lower quality. The card stock is much thinner, the plastic cover is much thinner, and the glue is more -- dunno how to explain it -- grabby? It feels like the kind of glue that will turn yellow in 2 years... The plastic is much harder to lift from the page (1 side doesn't have any overhang to grab!) I don't understand why the company doesn't sell the same pages which come with the album, but as far as I can tell, they don't. This greatly reduces the overall value of the albums...

Update: Heard back from Pinnacle. Not helpful. They said, "Thank you for contacting us with your concern. There is not really a way to get the original pages unless you purchase another album or you could try other refill pages that are sold on Amazon.com, normally this online retailer carries the best variety of refill pages for albums." Guess I will hunt on Amazon, for another brand which sells better refills...

A good photo album May 17 2012

We bought this album to hold family photos and it was perfect. It's great for those large 8x10 school photos and for smaller 4x6 photos.

Not as nice as I expected March 9 2012

I bought this photo album intending to put old photos in it. It is alot cheaper looking than I expected and I was disappointed in this purchase. The magnetic pages are like ones I had 30+ years ago and have not improved a bit.

good price - good functionalty - great value Jan. 20 2014

I chose this rating because this was an economical buy and did what I needed it to do. I was looking for an affordable way to preserve about 10 yrs worth of photos. I needed something that held 8x10 size. This works fine. Don't be mislead by other reviews that say it doesn't. I saw those and took a chance. It works fine. You may need to trim some edges for optimal fit. Perhaps that is why the other reviews said that. The plastic coverings may need taped down to stay stuck down on larger pictures. The cover is nice and professional looking. I got 4 of these and filled them all up with no problems. I recommend to anyone that has lots of pictures of multiple sizes looking to get a big box of photos under control.

Looks nice but don't expect quality June 20 2013

I bought this album to store old family pictures, which have random size and wouldn't look good in modern 4x6 or 5x7 standard albums. The album arrived quickly (don't expect anything else from Amazon) and my first impression was very positive. Although when I started to put my photographs together, I realized that this album is suitable only for small an completely flat pictures. If the photograph was of larger size, thicker than usual, or curved due to its age, the plastic cover wouldn't hold it in place. The whole purpose of such album is not to use stickers, glue or similar to hold photographs, as well as being able to reorganize them easily, and this goal cannot be achieved. As I already invested a lot of my time to organize my photo collection, I would not return this album but I strongly do not recommend it to anyone who has old photographs or wants to keep larger items in this album.
