High energy entertainment. Subtle comedic interaction makes one enjoy the broad comedy of this piece. Gene Kelly's dancing is elegant, powerful, and athletic. Judy Garland shines in her take on a sheltered, dreamer, girl whose fantasties of being involved in drama and high adventure go from being dreams to becoming reality. Thoroughly enjoyable and worth watching over and over again.

The Pirate is one GREAT musical movie! It's fun to watch. Gene Kelly and Judy Garland are a wonderful team and the chemistry between them in this movie is fabulous! When I'm watching The Pirate, I'm totally glued to it. I'm praying the movie will be release on DVD soon. It should be a classic!

There is not enough words to descibe how great this movie is. The interaction between Judy and Gene is so realistic and the story itself is superb. I wish this would be released to DVD because it is truly an unknown gem that everyone should watch.
