3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but not as fun. May 18 2010
By Scott Flower TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Blu-ray|Amazon Verified Purchase
When I became interested in this movie I found out it was already released in the UK under a different title "The Boat That Rocked". I downloaded it and watched it over and over and over and over. I could not stop watching it, it was just a long good time and fun to watch. So when Pirate Radio was finally being released on DVD/Blu-ray I became very excited and couldn't wait for it to come out. Sadly when I finally got a hold of it things had been changed in the movie. After watching The Boat That Rocked so many times I could pick out every thing that had changed from one or two lines missing, an entire section had been cut out(one of the best too), different music in different places, and certain scenes had been shifted around in different order. Basically they had cut out around 20 minutes of film. BUT if you have not seen The Boat That Rocked you will not miss any of that stuff so Pirate Radio is still pretty good, but just not as good. My advice= spend the extra $10 and buy the import blu-ray of The Boat That Rocked, well worth the money if you want to see the movie the way it should be. Boat That Rocked [Blu-ray]

5.0 out of 5 stars An awesome rock'n'rol ride Sep 12 2010
Format:DVD
Fans of rock'n'roll rejoice: this movie is a rollicking celebration of the music of the 60's that will rekindle your passion for this great genre of popular music. It is also a well-deserved tribute to the pioneer radio dj's that broadcast the music from "pirate radio" stations off the shores of the UK. Very funny, well written and acted, fantastic soundtrack: you're gonna love it.

And don't forget to watch the deletes scenes in the bonus features section of the DVD: they are awesome as well. Ckeck out "the meaning of life" and let it all out.
