Product Description

Album Description

Original soundtrack to the 2009 film from director Richard Curtis (Four Weddings & A Funeral, Notting Hill, Love Actually). The film was released overseas under the title The Boat That Rocked. Bringing together some of Curtis' favorite songs, this soundtrack is truly integral to the movie. It features some of the greatest songs from the '60s and '70s, as well as the odd gem from the '80s. A new version of "Stay With Me Baby" performed by Duffy, meanwhile, provides the backdrop to one of the film's most poignant moments. Includes cuts from The Kinks, The Turtles, The Beach Boys, Herb Alpert, David Bowie, The Who, The Moody Blues, The Isley Brothers and many others. 32 tracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars pirate Radio Rules, Aug 1 2010
By
Gary Heighington (Brampton, Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pirate Radio (Audio CD)
2 discs and 32 songs from the sixties and a great sound track from a period of time that we all remember. In Canada the CRTC would not let us listen to RocK'N'Roll in Stereo. We only got top 40 Radio on the AM dial in 1957 and only in Toronto. Great Listening and in Stereo. We needed Pirate Radio but we only had a lake monitored and under the juristiction of the Americans and Canadian Government with no place to hide.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Soundtrack Makes the Movie, July 4 2010
By
This review is from: Pirate Radio (Audio CD)
Exactly as I said. This has to be one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard - I saw the movie first and then knew, within about 5 minutes of the start, that I was going to need to get this CD. If you're a fan of 60's rock, don't hesitate, just get.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest CD, Aug 19 2011
This review is from: Pirate Radio (Audio CD)
This is the greatest CD I have ever purchased. It has all the songs from the 60's that are sung by the orginal artists. It is a must buy for anyone who loves this type of music.
