1.0 out of 5 stars Not my style of erotic telling., Sep 4 1999

This review is from: The Pit and the Pendulum (Paperback)
This is the first one of Ms. Knight's books I've read, and it may be the only one. The story has NOTHING to do with the classic story. It reads like an erotic dream, where the sequences are almost randomly put together and there is little in the way of satisfaction.

It starts out promising a magical world where anything can happen, and leaves with a "What was the point" feeling.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing, Oct 20 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Pit and the Pendulum (Paperback)
I agree with the last review. If the author follows the original plot a little bit more, it may be betther. I read her story about Dracula, and it was very good. I feel it is because she follow the original story much more. The House of Uther was Ok, but it was getting weird, because the author started to get away from the original plot line. The others of her Darker Passions novels were all very disappointing to me because they were like this one that they were far far away from the original story line. If the author wants to write a different story, please do so. If the author wants to use an old classic as the base of her story, please follow the original plot line a little bit closer.
