Product Description

With past experience as a drug runner, a madam, a money launderer, and a drug dealer—among other things—Andrea Mohr's résumé is an eye-opening read. All the while she lived a glamorous life filled with travel, movie stars, and easy money. But the dark side of drugs and addiction eventually saw her sentenced to seven years in jail for importing seven kilograms of narcotics to Australia. Andrea was sent to Deer Park, a violent, corrupt, mismanaged facility where there were more drugs inside than outside, and where her fellow inmates nicknamed her Pixie. In this no-holds-barred memoir, Andrea relives her involvement in drug smuggling that took her to exotic locations around the world and offers a rare insight into a criminal world few know. It’s a frank and shockingly truthful account of a life filled with dizzying highs and terrible consequences.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read!, Jan 28 2011

This review is from: Pixie: Dancer, Drug Smuggler, Prisoner, Saint (Paperback)
Pixie is a gripping autobiography written by German born Andrea Mohr. The brutally honest accounts of a life lived on the edge makes this book impossible to put down. Andrea tells of a glamorous and exciting life filled with movie stars, exotic travels, love and drugs, brought to a very real ending when she was arrested and jailed for the possession of 5.5 kilograms of cocaine. Pixie depicts the corrupt world of the Melbourne Police Force and Justice System, describing the cruel cold life experienced in the Australian penal system often filled with more drugs and violence than on the outside. Also filled with beautiful and remarkable stories of friendships and courage, Pixie is bound to pull at your heartstrings. I recommend this book to anyone with a thirst for thrill. I look forward to reading Cherie, the follow on from Pixie. I'm sure it will be just as intriguing if not more!

I had the pleasure of attending a book reading by Andrea while i was in Germany and would love to have her share her amazing story in Australia. Anyone that wishes to join the fight to get Andrea to Australia for a book show please join the Face Book group - Bring Andrea Mohr to Australia.
