About the Author
BRUCE TAYLOR was born at Kirkland Lake, and grew upin the northern Ontario town of New Liskeard. He is a graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines, and Michigan Technological University. He has had a life-long interest in the history and heritage of the Tem-iskaming District of northeastern Ontario.
He is the author of STEEP ROCK - THE MEN AND THE MINES, a history of the discovery and development of Steep Rock iron Mines in northwestern Ontario, TWO GAELIC SOLDIERS, a history of the Taylor and Maguire families, THE PLAUNT FAMILY OF RENFREW - A HISTORY, the story of a pioneer family in Renfrew County and Temiskaming, A PIONEER MINISTRY, the story of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in New Liskeard, THE AGE OF STEAM ON LAKE TEMISKAMING, a history of the steamboats on that lake at the turn of the century, and LESLIE McFARLANE - THE HARDY BOYS HAILEYBURY CONNECTION, the story of the original author of the popular Hardy Boys books.
Mr. Taylor and his wife, Linda live at historic Dawson Point on Lake Temiskaming, near New Liskeard.
