Too much of a departure for Kenny Wayne,

This review is from: The Place You're in (Audio CD)
Unfortunately, while Kenny Wayne is an awesome blues singer/guitarist, his attempt at popular rock is not a success. The CD sounds like a poor attempt at becoming a second Lenny Kravitz, and that is very unfortunate as Kenny Wayne's music, when he sticks to the blues, is awesome. Dissapointing.

awesome!,

I get that blues purists may be offended that the new prince of blues strayed from his roots but ease up! this is a great rock album with decent guitar chops. Even the vocals are ok. In this new millennium where there is rarely a decent rock album to be had accept it for what it is......a guy that can really play a guitar, write and sing his own songs and deliver the goods in both the blues and rock genres. Lighten up!M.I.D

Half of a great duo.........,

Kenny Wayne is a great blues guitarist.........but not a singer. Definitely missing Noah Hunt, who helped out on a couple tracks, which helped this one earn it's two stars. If Kenny can't patch things up with Noah, maybe he can reunite with Corey Sterling who gave excellent vocals to the first KWSB CD.
