My cat is older (going on 12) and has problems bending down to eat and with this feeder it strains her neck less and she doesn't take forever to eat now.

bowls are light and made of metal so dogs became frightened of it. easily catches on dog collar or lifts up with my dogs' aggressive style of eating. ceramic bowls would be much better. if your dog is used to eating from ground, he/she may not adjust to raised bowls. even with really tempting food, my dogs were reluctant to eat.
