The layout of PlayStation2's Dual Shock 2 controller is nearly identical to that of the original PlayStation's Dual Shock controller, which is good news for most gamers. The main new feature is that, when the buttons are pushed, the controller can register how much pressure is being exerted. This adds a completely new dimension to sports, racing, fighting, and more games. Aside from the Start and Select buttons, all of the functions are analog for greater control, a wider variety of operations, and a more compelling interactive experience. Two convex analog thumb pads and two force-feedback solenoid rumblers round out the features. This controller is also compatible with all software that supports the original Dual Shock controller.

I agree with Kelly,you must take care of the controller.I own 6 ps2 controllers 3 black,1 blue,1 wireless logitech and a nyko airflo controller.I use the multitap very often.Love the controller and it will love you back!Now for the review.This controller does not feel as comfortable as the black one.When I am playing and my hands sweat this controller slips out of my hand.I end uptaking my black controller and using it.But i love playing with this controller because it is fun for me to look at it during the loading screen.But if your hands sweat a lot or you play for long periods of time I suggest that you look for the nyko airflo controller its great!!Also I have a friend that is very rough with his controllers and he has dropped his black controller many times and it is still working but he dropped the blue controller and it broke

This is THE quintessential video game controller. I'm surprised remote controls aren't designed to be more like this, the layout is just so intuitive. And it takes a beating.The only question is why are dogs so determined to chew these things at every opportunity?

I doubt that the controllers are the problem. if the person is playing on a daily basis, it all depends on how you treat the controller or the system. if you take care of the items then you will not go through so many controllers and you will be able to make them last. sony is a well known product and ive played my ps2 for about 4 months and ive not found that my controller works wonderfully and i take care of all of my electronics and all the rest of my stuff that i own. i still have my stereo from like 98 and it runs and sounds like a brand new store bought stereo. its because i TOOK CARE of it.
