Don't buy this tripod. It's made cheaply inside and out and cannot do it's only task, holding a camera.
Legs work well and it does stand up to a respectable just shy of 2 metres.
Recommended especially at this price
Would be great if it was a bit more durable. After a year, one leg cap (the bottom rubber part) fell off on my last trip to Quebec City and the handle for holding it in hand while walking fell apart. Need better bonding for these bits and pieces.
I have a Canon t2i hooked up to it with a standard 18-55 lens and it seems more than sturdy. Although I have not used it outside, which I may do once a year - and if it happens to be windy - I will make sure it is secured. The only problem I found so far is when flipping camera to a vertical position, it won't be completely level with the Canon t2i - as the twist button is in the way (see attached photo). It is only off by mere degrees, but enough to notice when you are taking a picture.
For the price of this Polaroid tripod, you cannot go wrong. Great for beginners :)
UPDATE NOVEMBER 4, 2015 (3 STARS): After 3 fall photo shoots, this tripod was definitely sturdy outdoors in wind, but a few pieces are already worn out. The adjustable twist latch (just above the circle in the photo) that allows the camera to go from horizontal to vertical and every angle in-between seems stripped, it just keeps turning and turning, and won't tighten so the camera will stay "locked" in any position. Also, the twist button that I circled in the attached photo, the one that allows you to adjust the angle in which you point your camera (ground to sky) tightens but whatever mechanism it is attached to does not work. My camera is constantly falling "face-first" on its own, even with my smallest lens: 18-55 mm, and one of these days I think my camera is just going to snap right off.
It will serve my purpose of carrying it around while biking around in the summer months with my little Burley trailer also purchased from Amazon. A little sturdier one will probably be purchased at a later date. :)
The price might seem right, but even if it was free it is not worth the pending frustration and disappointment.

The head part to which the camera is placed got broken after a month! Now that I can't return the item, it's worthless and waste of money! Read morePublished 2 days ago by Furkan Ercan
