2.0 out of 5 stars Confusion!! April 26 2011

When I got the book I saw 2 projects I wanted to do by Jana Roberts Benzon. Luckily, I read through projects before starting them. They were very confusing in parts, like something was missing. I went to the publishers web site to look for errata and did not find any corrections at all. I emailed Jana and she was great. She got back to me right away and realized that the article that was being reprinted was not reprinted in it's entirety. She told me what was missing and then everything made sense. If they did that for 2 projects, who knows what they did to the others. I was very disappointed with this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hmmmm, Something's not quite right. Jun 21 2011

I was very excited to be receiving this book for my birthday, but after it arrived I found myself a bit disappointed. As it says in the description, all of the projects are just reprints from the publisher's magazines like Bead & Button and Art Jewelry. It has been 4 or 5 years since I've subscribed to Art Jewelry, so I figured I'd get some new, fresh ideas. Not. I had already seen about 90% of the projects several years ago in Art Jewelry Magazine.

After reading through the book, some of the instructions seemed to be a bit off and confusing. My fears were confirmed by another person who left feedback on the book. Jan Roberts Benzon, one of the authors, has said that the reprint of her original project was missing steps. How can the publisher justify chopping out info vital to the construction of a project? If you are good at reading between the lines, and deciphering instruction, this book might be okay for you. I recommend saving your money and buying Julie Picarello's new book Pattern in Polymer Clay or Making Jewelry from Polymer Clay by Sophie Arzalier, which has a faux wood technique that for me was worth the price of the book :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy Does It Mar 27 2011
By Razine Wenneker - Published on Amazon.com
Webster defines "pizzazz" as the quality of being exciting or attractive. This book is all that and much more. Who would know that this soft pliable material with a myriad assortment of textures and colors could be so inviting. Working with this material is certainly a hands-on experience. The directions were extremely easy to follow. The illustrations were all presented in full living colors. And, the finished product, although never encrusted with diamonds, silver, and gold, were very valuable in design, color, and final execution.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone that would like a new creative adventure.
