5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly Surprised Jan 19 2012

I was very hesitant to order a calendar online.....even more because this one did not offer a lot of views inside to see what it offered. I'm very picky about my calendars! But I am thrilled with it. I paid 6.99 & have paid $15 & $20 in the past for calendars that offered much less than this one.

At first I was concerned that it was a bit too small. It's an average/normal sized calendar but I usually purchase over-sized for extra writing space in the squares. But with this calendar it's not really necessary. You have the weekly & the monthly view to offer plenty of writing space.

Each month has the month view page plus 4 weekly/daily view pages. The weekly view pages are and inch or so shorter than the month so it is very easy to grab the weekly view pages to pick up and look at the month view. I like that it is very easy to flip back and forth between the views. And you can write just the highlights on the month view & put all your details of your events on the weekly view pages.
(I like to write everything...phone numbers, addresses & what to bring right on my calendar so I can throw away pieces of paper & not be searching for a paper with an address 10 minutes before leaving for an event!)

Also, the weekly view pages have space for recording events for 5 different people, each day of the week, so it's easy to see what direction each person is going every day and if there are any conflicting events.

The pages are very thick so writing on it with sharpie marker is not a problem....it won't bleed through to the other side....which is very important because after July, you flip this calendar over and the last 6 months are on the backside of the first 6.

There is also a nice sturdy pocket in the back. The bottom inch of every monthly view page has "year at a glance" grid view of each month with the month you are in highlighted.
The last page has 2011 & 2013 grid views, with some lines with all the months of 2013 for notes for the following year.

The style wouldn't be my first choice, but it is cute enough to live with! It hangs from the top very nicely from a cup hook. Very study well made planner.

Retail price on the back is 14.99! So it's a great deal.

...if it ever comes back, i'll buy it again! unlike most family calendars, it wasn't filled with school stuff (we're homeschoolers), overkill (we just don't need a massive amount of space), or ugly (i don't have a minivan and i don't need obnoxious graphics in my kitchen). It had just enough space for my kids and i to write things on for each week, and the month view was very handy too, as well as the pocket. when this went out of print, i was so disappointed with the other options that, even after extensive research, i gave up altogether and didn't even get one.

I really love this calendar and plan on getting this type for the upcoming year. I love the weekly feature so you can write out all the things going on for each family member. I also love the monthly calendar for a quick overview. Might take a little getting used to for some people that are used to just glancing at the calendar, you have to remember to double check the monthly or next weeks activities to stay up on what's going on. I love it and will definitely be getting another.
