About the Author

Darla Ferris Miller has spent more than two decades working in the areas of child care, development, and education. She holds a doctorate in Early Childhood Education, Texas and Mississippi Teaching Credentials, and an American Montessori Society Preprimary Certification. In Dr. Miller's current role as Assistant Dean of Instruction at North Harris Community College, South Campus in Houston, Texas, she oversees the Child Care and Development program. Miller also is an outspoken advocate for children and families in the region and state.
