5.0 out of 5 stars Great read, Oct 6 2008

This review is from: Post-Charismatic? (Paperback)
It's a great read! Backs up every claim, giving references so you can challenge them yourself. Helps us sort out some of the messes in the Charismatic/Pentecostal/Third Wave movements, while not abandoning the gifts of the Spirit.

Pick up a copy, you won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read, Aug 16 2009
By Eleanor Koop - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Post-Charismatic? (Paperback)
This book is for anyone who has ever been part of the loving, sensitive and emotionally charged atmosphere of the charismatic movement, and who later felt disappointment, bewilderment or even a sense of betrayal.

Rob McAlpine writes from personal experience with interesting anecdotes throughout. Careful research from a historical perspective is also evident as Rob traces the roots and growth of the charismatic movement. If you like church history you will find satisfaction here.

Post-charismatic is not disapproval of the charismatic; it is easy reading, believer encouraging, and Holy Spirit honoring.

I especially appreciated the detailed history of all the streams of thought that have lead to the many charismatic beliefs
