4.0 out of 5 stars POST GRAD. Comedy/Romance. 3,7/5*, Nov 24 2010

Emmanuel Monteiro (Vancouver, BC, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Post Grad (DVD)
It's a light comedy, many generation X and actual families can relate to.

The main character has planned her academic life since she was in high-school to get a college scholarship; now she has just graduated in English and in her master plan she expects to get a job as assistant editor in a major publishing house in Los Angeles. Overenthusiastic, overconfident and naive Ryden goes to her interview and then an arch rival, her arrogant classmate Jessica gets the position and Ryden is forced to move back into her childhood home with her eccentric family, while she attempts to find a job, the right guy, and just a hint of where her life is headed.

The comedy works very well, Alexis Bledel is very good and credible in her naive hopefulness, Michael Keaton is a little over the top (which is ok when playing an excentric), Carol Burnett is hilarious.

Director: Vicky Jenson
Writer: Kelly Fremon
Stars: Alexis Bledel, Michael Keaton and Carol Burnett
