I bought this card... the fan snapped clean after 60~ days normal usage... it blasted out my power supply from the defective fan....

Also the worse part is the RMA process took over 44 days to attain my card again, so if you want a 6850 fine get one but at all costs avoid PowerColor products they are very rude in customer service as well....

In an over all sense, they sent me back a refurbish card instead of another fan being mounted on the one mailed to them... Words cannot describe how frustrated the bad product brings to the table...

The PowerColor 6850 plays Skyrim on "Ultra", the highest detail level that the game offers. Need I say more. Ok I will. My Windows experience index jumped to 7.7 (the max is 7.9) for graphics from the paltry 5.8 that my 6570 gave me. I wouldn't dare compare these cards, but for <150$, come one! Come on! :)

Upgraded my 5770 512mb to this and what a difference! GTA4 runs near 50fps, with higher settings than before, and before it was running in the mid 30's. A great and quiet video card, well worth the money!!

Nice upgrade Sept. 3 2011
By S. Pierson - Published on Amazon.com
This card was an upgrade from a Nvidia Geforce GT220 that I had in a stock rig. I was concerned a bit about the potential size issues as well as power consumption because my machine is a mini-tower and only has a 500W power supply but the card fit fine (had to move a bit around but it worked) and haven't had any issues with power so far.

I also purchased mine from a 3rd party retailer because the price was much lower than it is here and came with Deus Ex: Human Revolutions. I am absolutely blown away by the card performance for the price and find it to run relatively cool and with very little noise. The frame rate and detail in games has been amazing and I think this is a worthy upgrade to any machine. For the price, there isn't a better card right now.

I have heard a few people on other sites complain about the fact that it isn't a "pretty" and looks cheaply made. I don't find this to be the case at all but I am also not extremely concerned about what the insides of my computer looks like as long as I get the performance that I want from it. And so far I have been nothing but happy. I've only owned the card for a few weeks but will update if I experience any problems.

This card will support Battlefield 3!!! Feb. 16 2012

I received a copy of Battlefield 3 for Christmas. The older Nvidia cards in my system were not able to run the Battlefield 3 game.:( This card, the ATI Radeon HD6850, was very easy to install. In addition, I've had a chance to over-clock the card using MSI Afterburner. The card stays cool and runs without problems. The price is very good for this card and yes it supports Battlefield 3. Game on!!

PC HD6850 stock Jan. 20 2011
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Price in Amazon pretty steep so bought this from an independent reseller.

DX11 is absolutely gorgeous, I tested it using Black Ops and blood gore never looked so good.

Full-load the fan noise sounds like a turbine engine, totally noisy, thinking of either bypassing the fans connection to the card and splice a fan controller or surround the case tower with honeycomb cardboard to minimize noise.
(edit: turns out, the noise came from the stock CPU fan, replaced it with a sunbeam-labeled cooler, noise is now gone)

Plan on buying another one to really complete my first crossfire setup.
(edit: did it, played crysis 2 on HD, no slowdown whatsoever)

My rig:
AMD Phenom X6 1055
MSI 890FX (5 PCI-e x16 slots, shame can't use all of it)
8Gb DDR3 RAM
1Tb WD Blue (yeah i know, should have bought the black but budget woes prevented me)

Check your case size! Jan. 14 2012

This GPU is 9" long and will take up two expansion slots on the back of your case, so make sure your computer tower is large enough to accommodate it.

I bought it for Star Wars: The Old Republic and get an average of 70 FPS at 1600x900 resolution, bloom and shadow turned on, and all graphics settings at high. Haven't yet seen the card heat to over 40 degrees Celsius.

Best bang for the buck out there! June 26 2012

I bought this card expecting pretty good performance. I was shocked when I actually tried running it. With overclocking, the card will run games like GTA IV, Planet Side 2, Far Cry 3, and Just Cause 2 at High-Ultra settings. The card remains fairly cool during overclocking and gaming. I've never seen the temps go beyond 70 degrees celcius (I do have a case fan located right next to it though.) While playing lower gpu-intensive games, temps run anywhere from 40-50 degrees celcius. I am planning on purchasing another for a crossfire layout, but the price on Amazon has gone up so I will be purchasing from an independant seller. The one thing bad thing I would say about it is it cannot handle AMD Overdrive overclocking maxed out. It has crashed whenever I set the cor clock to 850 and the memory clock to 1200. Howevre, I overclock at 825 and 1130 all the time with no issues. I would recommend this GPU to anyone who would like to build a good gaming pc without breaking the bank.
