Product Description

From Amazon.com

AC/DC's fourth album is the lull after the triumph of Let There Be Rock and before the mighty peaks of If You Want Blood You've Got It and Highway to Hell. Powerage contains all the familiar AC/DC trademarks: Bon Scott's rather less than Yeatsian lyrical vision ("Rock & Roll Damnation," "Up to My Neck in You"), Angus Young's brilliantly minimal guitar playing, a rhythm section as relentless and efficient as an infantry regiment, and the astute production of former Easybeats Harry Vanda and George Young; however, it lacks a truly transcendent moment, a "Whole Lotta Rosie" or a "T.N.T." Of course, even an average AC/DC album is an eloquent lesson in the fundamentals of rock & roll, and by that token Powerage still blows most opposition out of the water. Bon Scott's exultant declaration of working-class solidarity, "Riff Raff," is worth six Bon Jovi albums on its own. --Andrew Mueller

Chronique amazon.fr

--Andrew Mueller

5.0 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece, Jun 24 2004

Despite the fact that this album is one of the most underrated AC/DC albums out there, every track on this album is worth a listen, or most likely a few more.

the highlight songs on this album are:

Rock n Roll Damnation
Sin City
Riff Raff
Gone Shootin
Whats Next to the Moon

the production is raw, and this album shows AC/DC on a high pedestal. the lineup is:

Angus Young: lead guitar
Malcolm Young: rhythm guitar
Bon Scott: vocals
Cliff Williams: Bass ----- his debut with AC/DC

Phil Rudd: Drums

5.0 out of 5 stars an overlooked masterpiece, Nov 6 2007

Although this album is seldom mentioned among AC/DC's best, it just may be their finest hour. The production is fantastic, the songs are great, and Angus Young has never sounded better. There is an energy flowing through the songs that can't help but make you want to go to the fridge, get a cold beer, and have fun. This album absolutely rocks from start to finish (although the last couple of songs are slightly sub-par) and deserves to be mentioned in the same breath with classics Back In Black and Highway To Hell. If you like AC/DC, you are guaranteed to like Powerage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Underrated, July 2 2004

This is one of the seemingly countless albums that are SO underrated (Such as South Of Heaven, Ram It Down, and Psycho Circus). Although I do like Brian Johnson as a singer better than Bon, that doesn't mean this is not a good album. All the songs are good, in true AC/DC style and with those little sounds in Angus' guitar that makes you go "Oh, yeah, that's an AC/DC song", even though youv'e never heard it before. Whatever, all the songs are great and I feel this is one of the most underrated albums ever.
