From the Back Cover

Dean Rood A Practical Guide to the Care, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting of Capillary Gas Chromatographic Systems Third, Revised Edition The field of gas chromatography continues the evolutionary process. This is well demonstrated by the continuous series of developments - in columns, equipment, apparatus, techniques, and applications - that have occured since the publication of the first edition of this very successful offering. Problems experienced by users differ from case to case, and these differences sometimes necessitate different approaches to care, maintenance, and trouble-shooting. This book is intended for the average GC user and not for those whose entire life revolves around capillary gas chromatography. The topics covered within these pages are based on the most common problems, questions, and misconceptions about capillary gas chromatography. These topics have been assembled and presented in a unique, practical, and concise format suitable even for the most inexperienced user. The author has not changed his successful approach to the topic in the present third edition. Instead, he has focused on updating and correcting the text of the widely acclaimed second edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most practicla gas chromatography book ever. July 31 2013
By A. V., BBQ - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I read Dean Rood's 1st edition of this book when I started working in gas chromatography and have purchased the subsequent editions including this one. Each edition has new, update information, new illustrations and great tables for quick references to things like optimum flow rates, column phase ratios and so much more. After 20 years, and even though I am thought of as an "expert," I still reach for this book from time to time. After reading this book, you'll not only be better at "driving a gas chromatograph," you'll feel comfortable "looking under the hood," and doing maintenance and repairs.
