Book Description

In 1987, the first Predator movie was released, garnering an Oscar, huge audiences and an instantly loyal fan base. Five years later came the first of the best-selling Predator novels. What accounted for the success of the series? It combined seemingly disparate genres - science fiction, action and horror - with unforgettable characters for a fresh experience. In this novel by New York Times bestsellers, Michael Friedman and frequent writing partner Robert Greenberger, humans have all but destroyed the earth, creating an opportunity for unscrupulous moneymakers to take advantage of the destruction. One family, the Ciejek clan, have made their fortune exploiting Earth's misfortunes. But with power comes corruption. The members of the Ciejek clan are at each other's throats, enlisting the help of the fearsome Predators to settle the score. When the Predators arrive, however, the brutality they unleash is far beyond what the Ciejek family could have imagined.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not my favorite, but still a decent read, Nov 16 2007
By J. Winebarger - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Predator: Flesh And Blood (Paperback)
This book continues on the trends set from Forever Midnight. That is these are the " Hish " version of the Predators. Call me old fashion, but I much preferred the Yautja versions myself. However that is a different debate all together. I found this book to be a decent read altogether. I agree with the above reviews that the human characters weren't terribly interestingly enough. I really found myself not caring who would live or die when the inevitable chaos came.

Overall If you like these kinds of books you will enjoy it, it just won't be a favorite .

3.0 out of 5 stars Most Cowardly Predators Ever, Aug 6 2008
By A Child Without An Eye "mutilatedlips" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Predator: Flesh And Blood (Paperback)
Luckily I picked this out of a 50cent bin, which is about all this book is worth. Predators kill, kill and kill some more, but keep forgetting to ask somebody why they have been lured to that world. They even kill people who aren't armed or attacking them (somebody just smoking a cigarrette?). I was waiting for them to hit an elderly home or a nursery school at some point. In my eyes they appeared very cowardly hunting as a pack, a very lightly armed not-so-violent group of people. And so much for being rewarded for actually killing a Predator, because this clan makes sure you are beaten down for that. I was rooting for the bland characters and enjoying the action (which was written well and the reason for the 3rd star).
