What if you could bring back dinosaurs? This is the wonderful premise of this DVD set. I had watched this series on the Discovery channel and wanted the set for my own collection. It is wonderful to see the prehistoric landscapes brought to life as a self-sustaining eco-system. This is a thoroughly entertaining set and a must for any dinosaur lovers.

I can't believe this show aired for such a short time!! With very realistic-looking special effects and dinosaurs, it gives us a glimpse into what dinosaurs could have been like, how they lived, what they ate, even what their characters could have been like! It is highly entertaining and my kids love it!

This show is really very silly, but damn, is it fun. I have long thought that the only thing that could have made Crocodile Hunter more awesome is if Steve Irwin had a time machine, and this is the closest TV has ever come to that: it's basically Jurassic Park, only funny and educational instead of gory. For not really being an 'actor', Nigel Marven is surprisingly good at interacting with creatures that aren't there, and the 'documentary' illusion is well-maintained. The special effects, while not on a Hollywood level, are more than adequate, and the animals are given an endearing amout of character. I am especially fond of the irritable Incisivosaurus and of Martha the lonely mammoth. A great time-waster for the eight-year-old in all of us!
