Designed to gently discourage your dog from pulling while walking on a leash, the Easy Walk Harness is so simple easy to fit, and easy to use. Dogs AND owners love it! Unlike traditional collars, the Gentle Leader Easy Walk Harness never causes coughing, gagging, or choking because the chest strap rests low across the breastbone, not on the delicate tracheal area. Why it works: Traditional harnesses can actually encourage dogs to pull harder because of the opposition reflex. That s the reflex that makes sled dogs do what they do. The Gentle Leader Easy Walk Harness redirects the pressure through the front leash attachment. And, our patent pending martingale closure tightens slightly across the chest and shoulder blades when your dog attempts to pull forward. Traditional sizes: petite dogs with girth measurements of 12-16", small dogs with girth measurements of 15-20", medium dogs with girth measurements of 21-28", large dogs with girth measurements of 26-36", extra large dogs with girth measurements of 32-46". And now the Easy Walk Harness is available in 3 new Tweener sizes petite/small, small/medium, and medium/large. Designed to fit dogs whose girth and chest proportions do not fit within our 5 traditional sizes, these Tweener sizes bridge the gap. Dogs with especially broad or narrow chests may get a more accurate fit with Tweeners. The P/S size accommodates dogs with girth measurements of 13-16 , the S/M allows girth adjustments of 19-22 , and the M/L is designed for dogs with 24-30 girths.

I recently adopted a 3 yr old, 75 lb German Shepherd mix from a shelter who wasn't happy walking without tension in the leash. We tried all the training tricks we could - yanking back on the leash, turning and walking the other way, stopping entirely, all to no avail. He just liked to pull us through the neighborhood, as I'm guessing he was allowed to do in his first home. My husband was ready to get a choke chain, but I wanted to try something gentler first. I had tried the Gentle Leader head harness, but he hated it and just tried to paw it off. As a last resort, I ordered this harness and I love it! He doesn't pull me down the street anymore. If I have to get his attention, I don't have to put my whole body weight into it to pull him around. Yes, he knows the "let's go" command, which helps when it's time to stop smelling and get walking, but he refuses to "heel" in public (even though he has no problem doing it in the house or yard). For a dog who still needs some training, it's a real arm saver.

Medium-Large size is perfect for my Samoyed. The local stores only carry small,medium and large size. Amazon is the best place to get this size and it's so much cheaper!!!

My goal was to find a harness without plastic snaps but apparently such a thing does not exist. That being said, I bought a second of this brand and type of harness because I liked the first one so much. It really works on eliminating pulling. Plus, the straps are easy to adjust for a custom fit, and once you have put it on a few times, it goes on and off very easily. Also, you can reverse it and use the leash ring on the top instead of the chest.
