templates useful May 18 2013

The templates alone are worth the price of the book. Good advice about approaching this in a partnership spirit too. Saved us time and money.
Nice overview March 4 2014

This book is a good overview of the process and what is needed to make an agreement work. You still should use a lawyer to get it right and complete for your needs.
Works for post-nuptial agreements too Dec 17 2013

If you live in the state of California and need a post-nup for any reason, both you and your spouse will need to retain counsel. During my quest to find legal representation for a post-nup, prior to purchasing a house, I came accross a number of lawyers who wanted to upsell for services. I was lucky enough to find a great lawyer who recommended I save a few bucks and start the process myself, using Nolo. You can use this book for post-nups, with just a few changes in the wording.

You can then have the 2 lawyers review your agreement and viola! you're done.

This book was incredibly helpful and the templates were easy to find online. The book does not come with CDs. The book is full of examples and I was able to find the example that perfectly suited my situation.

I should mention, however, that these nolo books are great! The only exception would be their book on estate planning. I'm just passing on what my lawyer told me.

Covers everything for a lay person to have a working knowledge of what is going on with a prenup when going to the lawyer's office! Highly recommend

Good overview. Not good example of a Do IT Yourself book Aug. 21 2013

Good book for an overview of the prenuptial process. Good to use to understand the approach. I learned that lawyers often use software templates that has the legal speak you need for your state. Engage the cheapest lawyer you can if your situation is not complex. I would not use the templates that come with this book.
