Here are 100 ready-to-frame political campaign posters from the annals of American history! The candidates range from Andrew Jackson (“Defender of Beauty and Booty”) and William Henry Harrison (“Have Some Hard Cider!”) to Richard Nixon (“He’s the One!”), Barack Obama (“Hope”), and many, many more. The posters are backed with colorful historical commentary and additional artwork; best of all, they’re bound with clean microperforated edges so they can be removed, framed, and displayed. Review

“[I]t’s a fun book to flip through: colorful, informative, funny and thought-provoking. It’s perfect for political junkies, or for anyone interested in history.”—The Wichita Eagle

“This handsome, 11” x 14” collection includes more than 100 suitable-for-framing reproductions of vintage one-sheet posters throughout American history (from Andrew Jackson’s 1828 campaign against John Quincy Adams to Barack Obama’s iconic 2008 “Hope”), plus several culturally significant parodies, in an entertaining, informative overview about “the art” of getting out the vote.”—American Profile

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice big book Dec 11 2012

This book makes a great coffee table book. It also comes with large, removable poters if you would want to post them on your wall. The information is laid out well with the electoral vote, popular vote, posters, and background info on the major parties and campaigns. It's a very interesting and fun book to read or just flip through.

4.0 out of 5 stars the more things change........ Oct 27 2012

A physically large book with a whole lot of fun information. As a history teacher and self proclaimed political junkie I loved it. Lots of good information on the 19th century Presidential races and candidates that I knew little about. It seems as if many of the same smarmy tactics we are "enjoying" today are really not that new at all. I guess that might be a good thing, or then again, maybe it isn't. Not an overwhelming book. I found very little, if any, political bias in the book. For those who enjoy history and political history at that, this book merits a few hours of your time. Fun posters with background descriptions pertaining to the subject matter of said posters. Given the fact that it includes all Presidential elections the authors can be forgiven for not using more examples of posters. Sad side note is that the book was printed in China, but unlike other Chinese printed books I have read, this one doesn't contain a boat load of bad editing. Take the time if this is your field of interest.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sense of history Oct 3 2012

These posters provide a great view of the history of American presidential campaigns. I particularly liked the way that minor candidates like Ross Perot, Socialist candidate Eugene V. Debs, and even comedian Pat Paulsen's posters are included.
