In the event anyone ever comes across this listing, it should be known that the DVD version of this made for TV movie by ABC is to found on '6 Disasters Land and Sea', a collection currently on sale on Amazon and other sites.
It is a surprisingly good production, actually filmed in 1971 but released in 1973. It has a cast of solidly established television and movie actors who make almost credible a somewhat difficult script in which Air Force One crashes but the body of the President cannot be found among the dead. Everyone else known to be aboard the plane has been identified. With the President apparently unable to perform the tasks of the office, the Vice-President reluctantly takes up the reins of government in the midst of a crisis with China.
While the script is no more than serviceable, and there was clearly no money available for
superior visual effects, the puzzle and the competency of the cast, makes for an interesting evening's entertainment. I don't think it will evoke any great emotional involvement nor suspense, but the viewer is likely to be intrigued.
