Andre Gagnon is way up high as a composer/player,

He keeps amazing me. This record was his first complete Piano Solo effort. It is definitively one of my favorites (I have almost 20 of his albums). The melodies are moving and make you go into different moods, from tranquility to melancholy. One day you wake up and somehow one melody of this album is all around your head. It is hard to make a choice but listen to "Une Longue Absence" or "Retour en Arriere". In times when there are a LOT of piano players all over the place, the more you listen the more you realize that Andre Gagnon is really One of a Kind.

This was his first Piano Solo album. It was produced in Japan, where by the way, is the largest foreign music seller. This is one of my favorites (and I have over 20 Andre Gagnon albums). The melodies are simple yet profound. Each one takes you to a different mood. It's hard to choose, but listen to "Une Longue Absence" or "Retour en Arriere". You can always distinguish Andre Gagnon from the rest. It's style is unique: romantic, melancholic, tender. As a piano player, he has always chosen to focus on the melodies and the harmonies, rather then the technical aspects like most of modern composers. In times where there is a LOT of piano players, Andre Gagnon is really one of a kind.
