HEAVY. It is a great book, but I would recommend the E-version if possible. It gave my friend back problems from carrying it around.

Instructors - This is NOT a graduate level textbook!!! Feb. 6 2013

Before you choose this book for your advanced practice nursing students, just know that the book is large, written in fine print, and full of verbiage. If you feel that your students need to learn about culturally responsive care, ethics in health care, professional integrity in primary care, or how to translate research into practice, this might be the book you are looking for. IN reality, most nursing degree programs require classes in research, ethics, leadership and role development. Too much time is spent on these topics in this book. What could be said in a few words becomes paragraph after paragraph and chapter after chapter. It is certainly NOT a book they will want to keep as a reference text unless they have hours to spend looking for something they don't already know. Just hold on to old ethics text, a research text, a role development textbook, and a leadership book. Most of them cover what this book covers with much less effort. The authors of this book seem to be trying to make much to do about something or everything.

I use this book in my graduate studies all the time. Very easy to understand and make Primary Care Issues easier to follow.

As an FNP, this is a well written, useful reference and the one I use the most. Great to see such fabulous books written by APN 's. Highly recommend it

Love the Kindle version Feb. 1 2014

Let's put it this way... The book was just too heavy (felt like a sack of rice to me) to carry around. I traded-in my heavy book through Amazon, and got the Kindle version. The result, I can read this during breaks in clinicals and lunch break at work because I have my iPad mini with me most of the time. This is my most used course book, and I like to read my books. The search option really helps in looking for other pertinent resources even on the web. This is a great tool for writing discussion posts. The only thing I hope Kindle would fix is the format of the table of contents - you have to keep scrolling. I will try to do the same with my future course references.
