Considering this being another bargain buy you just can't go wrong. After the 2008 PoP this game goes back to its roots of linear, solid platforming as well as some battling. Game looks good, audio is ok, the Prince's narration surely adds a nice touch, the end is somewhat very short. Platforming is what you expect from a PoP game, the usual wall running, climbing, jumping etc. What makes it a bit spicier is the the fact that you can, and have to, take advantage of special abilities in the later part of the game, such as freezing and releasing water or restore previous parts of the environment a piece at a time to overcome the obstacles and puzzles in a room. As well as rewind time to take another chance at a hurdle in case you missed. Not very much of that is needed though as save points are frequent and sometimes restart is simpler than rewind, especially during a sequence of complicated moves. As expected, difficulty ramps up throughout the game, although I have to admit that, except for some passages of the Final Climb, one can progress rather quick and although rooms are large they are not overly complicated to master. That said under the assumption you master all the moves and powers in a timely fashion. Puzzles in the purest form are rare, while there are some levers to move I only recall two puzzles to be considered PoP worthy. Finally the battle component, not overly challenging and really only there to help recharge and level up your character. I ended up playing in easy mode due to the cumbersome battle mechanics, really all the easy mode does is to help you advance though the waves of enemies quicker. It does not simplify the platforming. Upgrades can be applied towards attributes and skills, you probably want to max out the health meter as well as the special skills orbs, second in line would be extending the times for water freeze and rewind. Other skills allow application of elements during battle, choose what you like, this is mostly for ornamentation, however I found the ice blast the most effective if the enemies come rolling in masses. All in all, this game lasts you about a weekend, but sure is enjoyable, I will play it again one day.

This game is good, but it ends very quickly. The graphics, movements and storyline are fantastic, but I finished it in 2 days and there's no online component.

The Prince Of Persia next-gen game from 2008 was a very good entry into the franchise, the reboot of the series 'Forgotten Sands' is more reminiscent of the PS2 Prince Of Persia trilogy, in that it puts more focus on combat than the previous entry. Can't go wrong with either 'Fogotten Sands' or the original next-gen game. Good stuff.
