Jake Gyllenhaal's doe eyes and bulging biceps will make some hearts flutter in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Dastan (Gyllenhaal), adopted prince of the Persian empire, must flee into the desert when accused of murdering his royal father--but a glass-handled dagger he found as loot from a captured city turns out to hold powerful time-manipulating magic. Not only is he pursued by his vengeful brothers, his scheming uncle (Ben Kingsley, Sexy Beast), and a strange cabal of assassins, but a princess/priestess named Tamina (Gemma Arterton, Quantum of Solace) wants the dagger back and will kill Dastan if she has to. Prince of Persia wants to be a rollicking adventure along the lines of Pirates of the Caribbean. Unfortunately, it's hampered by clumsy dialogue and hard-to-follow action sequences, with choppy editing that wrecks the flow of the parkour-inspired stunts. But the production design is extravagant and every time Alfred Molina (Spiderman 2) appears as a greedy sheik the movie gets a delightful jolt of energy. Gyllenhaal doesn't have much to work with--Dastan is a fairly generic hero--and whoever designed his hair should have been fired on the first day, but his lazy charm comes through and carries him through the movie. --Bret Fetzer

Video: The 1080p 2.40:1 AVC picture is a stunning cinematic experience, with a warm colour palette that perfectly captured the age-old desert settings. Contrast is excellent. Hues are rich and warm. Blacks are deep and solid. Resolution is also sharp, revealing fine facial and texture details. (4.5/5)
Audo: The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 is dynamic with good work-out for all the surround speakers plus the subwoofers. The music by Harry Gregson-Williams enhances the mood with full orchestral treatment befitting of the storytelling. (4.5/5)
For the viewers with anamorphic lens, I am glad to inform you that the subtitles are within the stretched picture frames. Thank you Disney for listening to our complaints.
The movie was supposed to derive from a video game. There was a mild surprise twist to the ending, which I will not give away here. It was an enjoyable 116 minutes. Highly recommended.

I loved this movie - not sure why it did not do better in the theaters as it was a great fun swashbuckling type of movie. We really enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this movie. It reminded me a lot of the first "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie in the sense that it was just a fun summer movie that didn't take itself overly seriously. The story was entertaining if you don't think about it too hard, the characters are fun, and the visual effects are good. If you're looking for an epic drama, this isn't the movie for you, but if you just want to be entertained in a not-so-serious way, then you might like it. It has a few laughs, some good action sequences (some were a bit too long for me), and a bit of romance... it's a good mix.

Great movie
its a great movie and just as good on blu-ray the seller has great and fast delivery so i was able to enjoy this movie that much sooner

Twisted
