1.0 out of 5 stars princess and God? Jan. 19 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
this book has religious content and I didn't realize it at the time of purchase. It was purchased for a grand daughter who is not raised in a religious home and it has sparked some questions from her. The answers are not easy and a person's spiritual beliefs are very personal. I am surprised that princess and God are in the same context.

5.0 out of 5 stars Friendship goes beyond clothing Aug. 27 2009
By Christine Fernandez - The IE Mommy - Published on
I adore all the Princess Twins books because I have identical twin girls. I enjoy reading about the interaction and friendship between the Princess Twins. I see so many of their simple behaviours in my own twin princesses.

What I found most compelling about this particular book was how clear the example of kindness was expressed. Mona Hodgson did not merely write about kindness but used the talents of Meredith Johnson to clearly dictate and express how kindness reacts to others.

The story reflects God's graciousness to us and how we should, in turn, reflect His grace to others. Princess Emma displayed love to her friend that was dressed plainly and who brought a small gift (as my daughters' instantly noticed). Her love toward her friend allow the girl to feel and know, she too, was beautiful and a princess.

It has been said that a "true" Princess never runs or yells. I am not sure if I agree with that but a true daughter of the King (a.k.a Princess Emma) never looks down on a friend because of their appearance.

It was a wonderful story to share with your child on how God has created us all physically different and how we are all special to Him.The Princess Twins and the Birthday Party (I Can Read! / Princess Series)

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable with value May 17 2012

The Princess Twins are cute little Level 1 I Can Read! early readers from Christian publisher Zonderkidz. This one starts with the theme verse, "Be kind and compassionate to one another." - Ephesians 4:32 and through the story Emma learns how she is special on the inside most of all when she is beautiful on the outside and then because she learned her message well she is able to pass it on when a friend almost misses out of the fun. Beth too is special and beautiful on the inside even if her dress on the outside is not quite as glittery. This is a great message for girls that I believe they can never hear quite enough. Through this reader is a neat way to learn it.

Mom was so excited to receive a book about twins! I used this as the bday card. I know the girls will enjoy this for a few years.
