Designed to be comprehensive yet succinct, Principles of Civil Procedure covers the main points that students need to understand, and it covers them thoroughly enough to be understandable. Professor Clermont’s text discusses specific problems, aided by many diagrams and special text boxes where emphasis is warranted. Citing all the principal cases that appear in the most popular casebooks, this Concise Hornbook gives special attention to fitting the major points together to form the big picture.

5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensable. Dec 10 2012

Don't go elsewhere for Civ Pro. Having discovered that, unfortunately, Civ Pro is my least favorite of all legal topics, I found myself more heavily reliant on this hornbook than any other. I was profoundly grateful for its succinctness and clear explanations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book Dec 9 2011

I used this book to study for my final exam and I got one of the highest scores in the class. Civil Pro wasn't one of my favorite classes its pretty painfully boring to be honest. I took a Saturday and read through this book and rocked the final exam. My classmates spent weeks going over cases, outlines, and dozens of practice tests only to come out with a C or worse! I wish I had bought this book at the beginning of the class I could have saved myself so much time! It covered in about 70 pages what my case book took 400 pages to do. If you use this either to study for the final or use during the semester it will make your time in Civil Pro much easier. It doesn't however give a lot of case reference so you'll still need your book for precedent support.
