5.0 out of 5 stars Seriously addictive TV Oct. 3 2006
I caught the first episode of season 2 when it aired in August - mostly due to the fact that there was nothing else remotely interesting on that night. However, having not even seen the first season, that episode hooked me completely. I went out and bought the first season DVDs and it was some of the best money I have ever spent. This is seriously addictive TV. Sure the plot lines can be a tad ah...implausible. But so what? The acting, writing and production value are all superb. I actually care about these characters, which is more than I can say for a lot of shows that I've watched recently.

If you like conspiracy plots and stories about people being on the run, you'll probably like Prison Break. If you liked the movies "The Fugitive" and "The Shawshank Redemption", then you'll probably like Prison Break. And finally if you enjoy shows that address the sacrifices made in the name of family, you'll probably like Prison Break. Plus there's romance!! Oooh aaaaah.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best money I ever spent! Sept. 23 2006
Aside from the fact that I would gladly watch Wentworth Miller read the phone book, this show is so addictive it should have a warning label on it!
This show has everything you could ask for:hunky guys, conspiracy, riots, friendship, brotherhood and even romance. I highly recommend this DVD set but be prepared to burn the midnight oil, because once you start watching, you can't stop!

5.0 out of 5 stars Prison Break = Must See Aug. 12 2006
I started watching this show at the end of the first episode. I watched the entire second episode and was hooked. Everyone that I know that has seen the show, has fallen in love with it and everyone that I have recommended it to is hooked. Till this day I can't go to work without having a small discussion about the show with co-workers because of the buzz it generates. If you haven't seen it, I envy you because you will get to experience it first hand just like I wish I could do again. Enjoy because you have no choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent drama series!!! April 9 2007
I agree with everyone that it's very addictive and the best television serie available out there! The cast is absolutely well picked for their own specific roles and you get attached to each and everyone, even the bad boys that you love to hate! It's a show that keeps you on the edge all the time. Totally unpredictable. I watched the whole season in only a few days and I just can't wait for Season 2 to come out!

5.0 out of 5 stars My guilty pleasure July 27 2006
By Curio
I adore this show--it's a guilty pleasure! I think I know maybe I should be more critical, given some very valid points about its plot and details. But I just disregard it all--it's suspension of belief, and it's so entertaining, the little slip ups or unrealistic bits just don't register.

The cast is stellar. Of them all, star Wentworth Miller is maybe lacking a little bit of range, but his character is so likeable, you can't help but appreciate his presence and cheer for him. The other characters are very dynamic, and luckily, aren't the scum of the earth type some may associate with a prison setting, which is refreshing, and I would think somewhat truthful.

Yes, prison's much nastier than Prison Break tries to show (everyone always refers to Oz as the prison drama with a real taste of what it's like on the inside), but really, this was never meant to be an 'R' or 18A show.

While it's completely different from Lost, it has some similarities. Where Lost is brilliant and infused with all this mystery and mysticism that is still discussed and debated over (when parts of it may have been introduced very early in the series), Prison Break is relatively "mundane"--not boring, but it's a study of what people can accomplish by *doing* things, rather than Lost's periodic exploration of faith and fate. There is still of course mystery in this show, with the goal being an intensely elaborate plan to escape prison, only the mysteries are more like problems; problems presented to viewers every episode that you worry at, with the answer revealed (always quite cleverly) at the end, along with a KILLER cliffhanger!

With hair-raising suspense, noteworthy acting, wonderful characters, and a breakneck pace, it's hard not to be seduced by the show.
