An amazing movie with more twists and turns than Chubby Checker. A white-knuckle special until the very very end. Although it is a very dark story, it has its shining moments of hope and goodness. Acting is superb -- Jake Guylenhall (sp?) completely out of his usual upbeat character. Hugh Jackman is ferociously wonderful. Viola Davis genuinely moving. Terrence Howard's performance takes your breath away. One of the best mystery movies ever.

Good, well done and above average thriller but nothing exceptional unfortunately. Does not match the intensity or style of films like Fincher's "Se7en" and "Panic Room" for example. I was hoping for something a little more original from this director.

May not be the most realistic scenario but very good acting, excellent action and thrill. You look forward to see the end because the conclusion is anyone guest. Recommended

I thought the Digital Copy would be able to be placed into my Ultraviolet account, but apparently it is restricted to only the US.

The movie is far too long. Large chunks could have easily been cut from it, though I admit that the deletions would have upset the balance of time each star receives on screen. But we're the ones who have to suffer through repetitions and sidetracks that are the main problem with the movie. Except for the ending, which I loathed.

The acting is excellent, though Jake's character is written as just a little too slow witted at times. And perhaps because they have both abandoned their usual on-screen personae, we can get into the plot with less trouble than we might otherwise. Gyllanhaal has never looked so unattractive, but it suits the character. And Jackman's beard obliterates Hugh Jackman, the actor.

The supporting cast is good, again, having trouble only with a script that trips them up at times. But how else would they get to that ending...that dreadful ending? Which may be exactly why this movie was made....I can think of only one foreign film, and its American remake that followed this route. I avoid them like the plague, too. In fact, I would prefer the plague at the end of this movie. Among the bonus material, an alternative ending would have been greatly appreciated. As it is, though it is a good movie, it will sit in my DVD cabinet never to be taken out again and watched; I hate ruining a lovely day.

Great movie, didn't like some of the violent scenes but it was very suspenseful and with a surprise ending...I recommend it....Of course Hugh Jackman can do no wrong pictures...

`Facing any parent worst nightmare is the abduction of there child or anyone for that matter"
"But this one,"Prisoners" is a movie I'm having a hard time with" just for it's lack of Police investigation,
and the circumstance of two missing children, who lives down the street from the accused perpetrator,
or suspect, as we seem to think he is, having seen so many movies on this subject and T.V. shows that
would not hesitate to tear his aunt's house apart, to try and find any evidence of foul play, what I'm saying,
right away they give you a suspect and no really hard investigation, the only thing you get is one angry Farther,
and rightly so , which the whole movie is based on, you know sometimes when your anger takes over your brain
you never ever think clearly, and that's a dam fact that no one can detest, I can really attest to why it was called
Prisoners, they were many here, his friend and his wife to name a few, even the investigating officer [Jake Gyllenhaal]
who was a prisoner in his own mind as what to do, now that he is confronted with the daunting task of finding these two
kids, the movie has a lot of really high tension moments and suspense, like edge of your seat, there's some very brutal scene to
the movie as well, that would make you cringe and to make you question your own Morales as what you would do in a case
like this.. the thing that bothered me the most is everyone seem to play second fiddle to the main character, Dover [Hugh Jackman]
1.85:1 1080p High Definition.
5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.
Runtime 153 Minutes.
I Really Love It. All The Way Through.
