automatic shuffler May 8 2012

The reviews were not very good about this product, but I wanted to try it anyway. We had tryed 3 of the battery operated shufflers and with the 6 decks we were using shuffling by hand was not an options. The reviews hated the way the machine looked, it was ok nothing like I expected from the reviews. It had s plastic cover and was silver in color, supposedly to give a distressed look. It was fine. I didn't order a high end product so didn't expect stainless steel. I wanted one that worked! The weights used on top of the cards make all the difference. Both sides go down equally. The instructions also said if the shuffling was not going well use new cards. Thet was the perfect solution. Using that simple solution we were able to recycle some of the old battery operated machines. I would not hesitate to get another one of these shufflers. It was expensive but I have not had to replace batteries everyother time we played cards as I use the electric option. Also I have not had to keep ordering new machines to have one that will work for a month or 2. Order one today!

Disappointed in the condition when received from this company March 29 2011

I used this shuffler at my sister-in-laws, and liked it very much. We play hand & foot with 6 decks of cards so beats shuffling by hand every time. I have one of the older Proshuffle models, and it needs help shuffling so I ordered this new model. It works good (I am sure it doesn't work like the ones used in casino's as stated on the box), however, I was very disappointed in the dented and scuffed condition this company sent it to me in (looks used). Based on this experience, I wouldn't order from this company again.

item received NOT the item pictured May 27 2011
By msflnj - Published on
ITem received was NOT the item pictured which should have included an AC adapter. Received cheapo version of a shuffler which i already own & only paid $20 for!!

September 2013 update: After the above review I found the pictured item at another site & purchased it. Have been using it for a couple years I think & I'm so glad I treated myself to it. I don't remember where I got it but This site has it currently for $159 [...] If you have the patience to search you may find a better deal.

If you frequently play multi-deck card games (Hand & foot, 5 decks for 4 players) it is worth it! Occassionally a card hangs up as in other shufflers, but applying slight pressure on the decks or bending the cards a bit so the center lies flat against the rollers is all I've ever had to do besides plug it in & shuffle quickly! Run decks thru a few times. I decided if my husband can spend $$ for camping, fishing, licenses, etc. I could treat myself to this for my recreational pleasure with friends.
If you have a regular group maybe you could divide the cost & it goes home with whomever is hosting the group next or whoever usually gets the games together.

Very Disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dec 20 2010

Plain junk. Very cheap looking for the money you pay. The shuffler came all scuffed up like it had been dropped on the ground before shipping. When I picked up it had something inside moving around to prove that it was probably dropped. I run a company and if I shipped junk like this out I would be out of business. Very disappointed!!!!!!"

Using with non-standard cards... Dec 30 2012
By Redwood Cat - Published on

I purchased this shuffler after living with a $15 one for many years. I shuffle massive amounts of non-standard cards for the games I play, and after spending a solid hour getting ready for a game with the old shuffler, I decided to give this one a try despite the warnings about not working with non-standard cards. Being determined to make it work somehow, I discovered that if I helped the card feeder by ever-so-lightly pushing the bottom cards towards the feeder, it worked to my satisfaction.

I think the claims of it being like a casino machine and so forth are ridiculous; it's just a bit of a step up from the super cheap machines. But if the $15 machines don't work for you, and you don't need a true casino quality shuffler, then this one might be worth a try. For me what makes it worth the price difference is that is stays turned on with a switch, so my hands are free to help feed the cards. And I can take the shuffled cards straight out without having to take out and replace a tray. So it makes the shuffling job much faster even if it's not perfect.

By the way, I ordered this direct from Amazon and received the unit in perfect condition. I don't see any cosmetic flaws.
