I feel like this book is just case study after case study. While I know that case studies can be useful, having them one after the other has made this textbook a pain to read through.

This was a very expensive book but you can tell it was cheaply made. The binding starts to fall apart practically after you open it for the first time. I would tell you to go with the International version or get a paperback copy. This book is not worth the money.

I used this book in my chemical engineering process design course and found it immensely helpful. Many of the homework problems are excellent ways to practice using design software such as ASPEN. The methods and figures are clearly explained and easy to use if studied thoroughly. In general, this book deftly links the undergraduate chemical engineering curriculum to skills needed for industrial work. In particular, the book excels in its explanation of methods for estimating the size and price of process units in chemical engineering. It also builds awareness of the scale and nature of industrial processes, and the economic criteria needed for successful processes. The supplementary material is easily accessed online through the Wiley website and has many interesting process design problems worked out.
